Charlotte Murray, who goes by Charlie (she/her), is a director, deviser, and newly growing into the identity of writer. She works in New York City and Philadelphia. After graduating she has found a passion in new plays and new play development. Her work pursues big theatrical ideas (usually with a big sense of humor) that create interesting formal challenges. She is passionate about what it means to build an equitable and joyful process.

The theatre is a place of surrender - we surrender our time, we surrender our attention, and we surrender our skepticism. And the theatre that I want to make, in turn, surrenders the obsession with Realism and embraces the wild indulgences of imagination, which bring us closer to the truth of the human heart. The only real limit is the imagination of the creative team that assembles to make something out of nothing. That bold ability to summon a whole world from empty space has always motivated me to keep experimenting and pushing boundaries in my own work.
